Research

Questions we answer before we build.

CapitalOS exists because we spent months testing its premise before writing a line of product code. This is where that thinking lives.

What we're currently investigating.

01
Institutional diligence
How institutional investors actually run diligence, and where existing fundraising tools misread what they're evaluating.
02
Governance at small scale
What governance rigor looks like for a company well before it needs a board in the traditional sense.
03
Evidence-first products
When infrastructure built for internal use should — and shouldn't — become a product for others.

Adversarial reasoning, applied deliberately.

CapitalOS was originally positioned as fundraising software for founders. That thesis didn't survive sustained, adversarial scrutiny — so we changed it before it shaped a single line of code. Research at OSG exists to apply that same scrutiny before conviction hardens into architecture.

Findings that hold up become part of the Journal's public record. Findings that don't are discarded just as deliberately.
